[ARCHIVED] Grants & Loans Available for Septic System Improvements

Keeping your septic system functioning properly is important for protecting water quality and human health. If you know or suspect that your home septic system is not functioning correctly financial help is available for septic system improvements.

Grants are available to low income households throughout the county for subsurface sewage treatment systems (SSTS). These funds are available to single family homes or duplexes that have received a Notice of Non-compliance from the appropriate permitting agency. Several loan programs are available through Anoka County, each with its own policies. There are options for both low income or any homeowner. All are low interest and some are forgivable. The contact for loans is Barb McKusick of Anoka County at 763-324-4605 or
