The City of Ramsey is seeking individuals interested in working as an intern in the Administration, Planning and Engineering Departments. All interns will work up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday beginning in late April to early May, and running through approximately mid-September depending on availability, workload and rules of Minnesota Public Employment Labor Relations Act (PELRA). The starting wage for these internships is $12.00 to $14.00 per hour.
Administration Intern – The primary responsibility of this position is to work with staff in facilitating and/or coordinating multiple ongoing City functions and events. The largest project is assisting with the annual Happy Days Festival which will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020. The hours are Monday through Friday – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Planning Intern – The primary responsibility of this position is to assist staff with multiple ongoing City functions, projects and events including a variety of land use planning and zoning administration activities, processing applications for conditional use permits and enforcement of sign regulations. Attend monthly Planning Commission meetings, select Environmental Policy Board meetings and various public workshops. The hours are Monday through Friday – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Engineering Interns – Two openings – Provide assistance to staff for summer constructions projects. These positions will facilitate and/or coordinate multiple ongoing City functions, projects and events with the Engineering staff. The hours for these positions are Monday through Friday – 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
