Kids Safety Camp

2021 Safety Camp

In the best interest of public safety, we made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Kids Safety Camp. Instead, we are planning a Kids Summer Safety Series throughout the month of June. The series will cover a variety of safety topics similar to Kids Safety Camp and is open to current 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders (2020-2021 school year). Class sizes will be limited and based on COVID-19 guidelines.

Dates for the series are June 16, 17, and 22 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Elmcrest Park. Classes are free. Registration is required and will open April 26th at 7:00 am. Each class in the series requires separate registration.

Register for session 1: June 16, 1:00-3:00 PM - Magician (Be Aware, Be Alert, Be Safe) and Karate (Bullying)

Register for session 2: June 17, 1:00-3:00 PM - Water Safety and Bike Safety

Register for session 3: June 22, 1:00-3:00 PM - Fire Prevention and Safety

We will post any updates to this event, including changes and cancelations due to COVID-19, both here and on the Ramsey Police & Fire Facebook page.

About the Camp

Every summer, the City of Ramsey sponsors a two-day, daytime Kids Safety Camp for up to 144 second and third graders. The goal of safety camp is to teach children how to prevent themselves from becoming victims of unintentional injuries. Through a variety of fun activities, professionals teach kids how to be safe around fire, animals, electricity, water, on a bicycle, and more.

Safety Camp is held at Elmcrest Park in Ramsey. The registration fee is $30, which includes activities, supplies, snacks and lunches, a bike helmet, a T-shirt, and an ice cream social. Scholarships are available. Registration is limited and is on a first-come basis. Visit our online catalog to register.
