Tobacco Compliance Checks

Anoka County Law Enforcement is Looking for Youth Volunteers

Law enforcement agencies are required by state law to conduct tobacco compliance checks at least once per year, on each licensed vendor in their jurisdiction.

In order to conduct compliance checks, we must have trained youth volunteers.  The Ramsey Police Department conducts youth volunteer training annually to ensure there is a sufficient list of eligible volunteers for all Anoka County law enforcement agencies to conduct tobacco compliance checks.  At training, you will learn about tobacco laws, what a compliance check is, and how to do them.

Interested in being a youth volunteer and doing tobacco compliance checks?

Your role would be to accompany police officers and attempt to purchase tobacco products at stores throughout Anoka County.

  • Between 15 - 17 years old
