Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), is an invasive insect that attacks all species of
ash trees in Minnesota, including Green, White and Black Ash (please note that
Showy Mountain Ash is not a 'true' ash, and thus is not affected by EAB).
It was discovered in St. Paul in 2009, in Minneapolis in 2010 and in Shoreview
in 2011. This destructive pest is inching closer to Anoka County.
The Cities of Ramsey and Andover are teaming up again to offer another free
workshop on the EAB. The workshop will provide information on
signs/symptoms of EAB infected trees, preventative treatment options, and other
strategies that property owners can implement to help lessen the impact of EAB.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Andover
City Hall (1685 Crosstown Blvd NW, Andover, MN 55304).
If you are interested in attending this FREE workshop, send an email to canderson@ci.ramsey.mn.us with your name, phone number, address and number of people attending. If you have any questions related to the workshop, EAB or other
tree related issues, please contact Associate Planner/Environmental Coordinator
Chris Anderson at canderson@ci.ramsey.mn.us or (763) 433-9905.
