2016 Election Information/Important Dates

Following are important dates and information with regard to the 2016 Election:

May 17, 2016 – Candidate Filing Opens – 8:00 a.m.  The following four (4) seats will be open for filing:  Mayor, Councilmember at Large, Ward 2, and Ward 4.  The filing fee is $5.  Please contact Jo Thieling at 763-433-9840 or jthieling@ci.ramsey.mn.us if you have questions.  Filing closes at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31.

June 24, 2016 – Primary Election In-Person Absentee Voting begins and continues through Monday, August 8.  You may vote in-person absentee at Ramsey City Hall or at Anoka County Elections Department, or request a ballot be mailed to you by contacting the City of Ramsey at 763-427-1410 or Anoka County Elections at 763-323-5275.  You may request to vote absentee by mail at any time prior to this date as well.  The request is received and once the ballots are available, one will be mailed to you.  Besides absentee voting during regular business hours of 8:00 am. to 4:30 p.m., Ramsey City Hall and Anoka County Elections Department will be open to accommodate in-person absentee voting on Saturday, August 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

August 9, 2016 – Primary Election.  All polling places in the City of Ramsey will be open for voting from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  You may find your polling place by visiting the City’s website (www.cityoframsey.com) or contacting City staff at 763-427-1410.

September 23, 2016 – General Election In-Person Absentee Voting begins and continues through Monday, November 7.  Again, you may vote in-person absentee at Ramsey City Hall or at Anoka County Elections Department, or request a ballot be mailed to you by contacting the City of Ramsey at 763-427-1410 or Anoka County Elections at 763-323-5275.  You may request to vote absentee by mail at any time prior to this date as well.  The request is received and once the ballots are available, one will be mailed to you.  As in the Primary, Ramsey City Hall and Anoka County Elections Department will be open to accommodate in-person absentee voting on Saturday, November 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

November 8, 2016 – General Election.  All polling places in the City of Ramsey will be open for voting from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  As stated above, you may find your polling place by visiting the city’s website or contacting city staff at 763-427-1410.

Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 211A.02, Subd. 6, Campaign Finance Reports will be posted here within thirty (30) days of the receipt of the report and will remain available for four (4) years after the posting date.
