Every June,
the City
of Ramsey sponsors a two-day, daytime Kids Safety Camp for 180
second and third graders (2009-10 school year). The goal of safety camp
is to teach children how to prevent themselves from becoming victims of
unintentional injuries. Through a variety of fun activities,
professionals teach kids how to be safe around fire, animals,
electricity, water, on a bicycle, and more.
Safety
Camp is held
RAIN OR SHINE
at the Boy Scout Camp, located off of Hwy 47 in Ramsey. The registration
fee is $30, which includes activities, supplies, snacks and lunches,
bike helmet, T-shirt, awards ceremony and ice cream social. Limited
scholarships
are available.
Priority registration is given to Ramsey residents who have not
previously attended safety camp. Registration is limited and is on a
first come basis. If, after May 15th, there is space available,
registration will open to other cities and second time campers.
Camp
will be held June 22-23, 2010.
